Salaries for Recruitment Consultants and Trainee Recruitment Consultants are dependent on a number of factors. The biggest ones are location and the sector you work within.

Typical salary expectations are:

* Trainee Recruitment Consultant  - starting basic salary of £14,000 - £20,000
* Recruitment Consultant - Average salaries are £26,000
* Senior Consultant  - Average salary of £32,000
* Managers and Team Leaders - from £40,000+

In addition to basic salaries the majority of recruitment roles are commission and bonus related.

To be a successful recruiter you must expect to work long hours including evenings. Most of your time will be spent in the office; however you will be expected to be able to attend meetings with clients and interview candidates outside the office environment.
